Untamed and captivating, Cartier's iconic panther once again makes a striking appearance in the brand's new campaign, gracing urban outdoor spaces with monumental imagery and continuing its legendary allure.
At major landmarks in cities around the world, the panther — protagonist of Cartier's animal kingdom — leaps across the urban landscape, paying tribute to the Maison's distinctive aesthetic and its mastery of the crafts.
Artisans from diverse disciplines — marquetry, ceramics, lacquer and mosaic — joined forces to create this exquisite panther portrait, a fusion of exceptional savoir-faire and stylistic elegance.
From September 1, this monumental visual artwork was officially unveiled in Paris, appearing at an unprecedented scale on the façade of the Hôtel-Dieu overlooking the Seine. It is the largest artistic display ever presented on this building's façade, covering a total area of 1,400 square meters. The panther's signature green eyes and iconic leopard spots unfurl across the architecture, exuding breathtaking grandeur.
From London to Milan, and from Shanghai to Tokyo, Cartier's most beloved nimble figure will also make its presence felt across the world, brought to new life through the art of light; and in Miami and New York, Cartier will create large-scale murals celebrating the boundless allure of this legendary icon.
In Cartier's animal kingdom, the panther stands as spiritual leader to legendary creatures including tigers, zebras and crocodiles. The Maison has created five imaginative animal fables portraying their wondrous encounters, to be released progressively across digital platforms. Set in scenes of whimsy and wonder, they tell the unexpected stories of the panther's meetings with other animals. Every set has been handcrafted by artists using traditional crafts such as gold lacquer, straw marquetry, glass marquetry, mosaic and paper art, creating an exquisite stage for the Maison's animal-themed jewellery and watch creations. These miniature theatres of art will also adorn Cartier boutique windows, offering a visual feast like no other.
In addition, all the iconic animals of Cartier's animal kingdom will be presented in spectacular light projections on the façade of 13 Place Vendôme in Paris, adding a grand new chapter to this celebration of art.
